Materials Testing
We perform field analyses on soil, aggregates, and concrete for proper classification, as well as material properties at our laboratory, which has a concrete curing room for proper storage and handling of concrete cylinders and equipment for sieve analysis and concrete compressive strength testing.
We can also provide density testing, proctor analysis, dynamic cone penetrometer testing (DCPs), concrete slump and air testing, and cylinders.
Construction Materials Testing Services
PEI provides construction materials testing services for soils, concrete, and asphalt, both in the field and at our laboratory. Field testing services are performed at a variety of commercial and residential projects to verify density of soils, concrete properties for compliance with specifications, and asphalt quality assurance. These projects have ranged from individual property owners verifying compaction of fill material to concrete testing for a new chair lift foundation at Boyne Highlands where the concrete had to be delivered by helicopter.
